Introduction to my family history research

Croppedmyheritage

I have long been interested in finding out where my ancestors came from, perhaps because as both a young man as a member of a military family and then later as an adult, I have never been sure about just where was my ancestral “home”. The research I have published on this site has provided me with some of the answers.

To read that research, please click (here).

My Flack ancestors almost certainly came from South West Scotland before migrating to Ulster, either in the “Plantation of Ireland” in the 1600s or perhaps earlier.

My Cockshutt forebears came from North East Lancashire in England.

My Hayward relatives came from Lancashire in the 19th Century but almost certainly came originally from Hampshire in England.

The Chambers branch of my mother’s family came from Yorkshire, England.

If you share any of the ancestors mentioned in this research, please make contact by email at ted.flack@gmail.com
